Dylan Diggs is an international evaluation expert with a focus on democracy and governance. The son of Eric and Denise Diggs, Dylan was raised in Mount Airy, Maryland from birth, where he graduated from Linganore High School.
Dylan received a Bachelor’s in political science from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s in Government from Georgetown University, with a focus on democracy and governance. At Georgetown, Dylan met the love of his life, Samira. They married in 2015 and have now moved back to Frederick to build a family with their newly born son Paxton. She now teaches at Linganore.
Dylan works at the International Republican Institute (IRI), an organization created by President Ronald Reagan with the mission of supporting persons around the world to understand and advance representative democracy in countries that are beginning the democratic experiment. He is a senior evaluation specialist, where he develops and analyzes metrics that determine if IRI’s work is conducted efficiently and effectively.
Dylan has also been involved in politics since high school and has worked for the McCain-Palin campaign in communications and the Romney-Ryan campaign on international and economic policy. Dylan is excited to return home to Frederick to help make the County Council an institution that encourages opportunity and freedom in our communities.
